Primary School P.E. and Sport funding in Roman Way First School

The PE and Sport Allocation is funding provided to schools in addition to main school funding. This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on the provision of P.E. and sport in schools.
The government is providing additional funding for academic years 2013 to 2014 and 2014 to 2015 to improve provision of physical education (P.E.) and sport in primary schools. This funding - provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport.

It is for schools to decide how the P.E and Sport funding is spent, since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made to enhance the provision for P.E. in school. Schools are to be held accountable for how they have used the additional funding.

From September 2013, this information must be published on the school website.

We aim to use the funding to enhance pupils experience in P.E. in school and provide further opportunities for children to engage in inter school competitions in a range of sports. This will be through the purchase of new equipment for the school to use in a variety of ways ensuring it is used to its full potential. As the funding is not solely for P.E. we will be using some of it to improve the health and wellbeing of the children in our school.
